A New Era for Home Educated Students in Wales
We have some HUGE news to share… we have just got the keys to our brand-new building and it’s not just any building. This will be the first private exam centre in Wales designed and run specifically for the Home Educating community.
This is more than just bricks and mortar for us. It’s a project we believe in with our whole hearts, and one that’s both financially and emotionally massive for us. We’re taking a leap because we know the difference it will make, but we can’t do it without you.
Why this matters
We’ve been working closely with the Home Ed community for the past two years and we understand the barriers families face when it comes to exams — from limited exam board options, to difficulties accessing science practicals, to feeling like a bit of an outsider in traditional centres. Our vision has always been clear: educational equity for Home Ed students. This new centre is a big step towards making that a reality.
What we’ll be offering
Initially, we’ll be offering exams with WJEC, AQA, and iGCSE boards.
And because we’re science teachers, we know how important practicals are — so we’ll be running science practical exams at Techniquest, with dates already earmarked.
We’re doing this completely self-funded, no grants, no local authority support, no government money. That means we get to stay true to our values, but it also means we’ll be relying on your support to make it thrive.
