Stories and Reviews from our community
EXCELLENT Based on 6 reviews Posted on Amanda Cookson Crossroads has been an absolute god send from the moment we got in contact with them. We found ourselves needing support to home school our 11 year old daughter who by this time was struggling emotionally from the pressure of trying to fit in, mainstream education. Within 3 weeks she became more confident, looking forward to attending her classes and engaging with the work which is perfectly designed to meet her academic ability. The learning environment is inclusive, motivating and always positive. They consistently go that extra mile and provide a setting that promotes curiosity and confidence. Most importantly, my daughter is happy and thriving and I am so pleased to have them on our side through this learning journey. Consequently, we wholeheartedly 100% recommend Crossroads to anyone looking for support in homeschooling, or tuition.Posted on Sonny Richards “My Sonny has been receiving private tuition with Kate at Crossroads and the progress he’s made has been incredible! Kate is highly knowledgeable, patient, and knows exactly how to keep him engaged. His confidence has soared, and he’s now excelling in areas where he previously struggled. I couldn’t be happier with the support and personalized approach he’s receiving. Highly recommend!”Posted on Rhian Richards Amazing and supportive company. HIGHLY recommendPosted on Caroline Murphy Kate and Gavin at Crossroads educational consultants are truly amazing and a wonderful find. We had to deregister our neurodivergent children (8 and 11) from school last year due to lack of support. Since then we have tried to find a tutor for our youngest so we got a basic primary education, but the tutors only saw her once a week and didn't achieve much and unfortunately messed us around. Then I found Crossroads. We met Kate and she explained how they do 1 session a week with the children but also work online and give loads of resources to the children to work through. She met my daughter who loved her and loved her first lesson so much she convinced her brother to have a tutor too and so we met Gavin. Kate and Gavin tailor the lessons to the children's needs and interests. They don't put any pressure on the children and both love their lessons! My son has a PDA profile and is really difficult to engage in learning but somehow Gavin manages it with ease! Kate and Gavin are really friendly and always contactable which makes our lives easier. 100 stars!!!Posted on Claire Burton Kate and Gavin are the most incredibly supportive tutors. They have so much insight and experience in teaching children who are anxious or neurodiverse. They have been a life line for our family.Posted on Freya James Kate and Gavin have been fantastic so supportive and taylor the work specifically to my sons needs. Home education is when parents choose to take responsibility for their child’s education instead of sending them to school. Learning can happen in many ways and doesn’t have to look like school at home. Every family’s home education journey is different.

Testimonials
Our 14-year-old daughter, who has ADHD, cognitive underdevelopment, and dyslexia, has struggled with school anxiety and curriculum access since Year 2. Despite having a school IDP since Year 3, her anxiety led her to refuse school in February 2024 (Year 9) due to EBSA, compounded by the pressure of choosing her GCSE options.

Katie thrives with 1:1 tuition and a distraction-free environment. As our LEA couldn't provide suitable EOTAS, we chose to home educate her with Crossroads Education Consulting's support. Kate and Gavin built a rapport with Katie, identified her learning barriers and preferences, and designed a bespoke curriculum.
In just over a month, Kate and Gavin have significantly boosted Katie's confidence and enjoyment of learning. She is now more independent and enthusiastic, starting her day with learning without prompting. We're thrilled with her progress and newfound love for learning.
