Creative Art Workshop Series with Maddy Hopper
Join specialist artist Maddy Hopper for a series of three inspiring art workshops exploring sculpture, painting and printmaking. Designed for young people aged 9–16, these relaxed, hands-on sessions encourage creativity, experimentation and the development of new artistic skills in a supportive environment.
Rather than following a set theme, each workshop invites students to create artwork based on something they love. Whether it’s portraits, animals, dinosaurs, landscapes, favourite characters or another personal interest, Maddy will guide each participant to develop their own ideas while learning new techniques and building confidence with different materials.
These workshops are perfect for students working towards Arts Award, GCSE Art, or for anyone who simply enjoys being creative, wants to try something new or develop their artistic skills. No previous experience is required – all abilities are welcome.
What to Bring
To help make the most of the workshops, please bring:
- An idea or theme you would like to explore (for example portraits, wildlife, fantasy, architecture or landscapes).
- Reference images to inspire your artwork, such as photographs of pets, people, objects, places or previous artwork. These may be printed or viewed on a phone or laptop.
- Yourself, your enthusiasm and a willingness to experiment!
Please ask a parent, guardian or carer to email Maddy.hopper@crossroads.co.uk before the first workshop with your chosen theme or idea. This allows Maddy to find artists working with similar subjects and tailor inspiration and guidance to your interests.
