Our Edexcel GCSE English Literature Course provides students with the opportunity to study a range of engaging literary texts, developing confidence in analysing, interpreting, and responding to literature.
This is a one-year GCSE course designed to support students in building the skills needed for examination success, including essay writing, understanding context, exploring writerโs methods, and developing independent opinions about texts.

The GCSE examination will take place in Summer 2027 at Crossroads Exam Centre, Caerphilly.
Course Content
Throughout the course, students will develop their understanding of:
- Prose, poetry, and drama texts
- Character development and relationships
- Themes and ideas within literature
- Language, structure, and writerโs techniques
- Historical and social context
- Planning and writing effective examination responses
Students will be supported in developing their analytical skills, building confidence in expressing their ideas, and preparing effectively for their GCSE examinations.
